We invest in our people. CSSI officers receive hands-on training through our in-house Academy including situational training, first aid, CPR, and advanced certifications that goes well beyond state requirements.

About the Role

We are hiring a part-time Security Officer to cover afternoon and evening shifts at our healthcare client sites in the Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, SC area. You will provide professional security coverage at medical centers and emergency departments during high-traffic afternoon and evening hours.

This is an ideal position for someone seeking steady part-time hours on a consistent weekly schedule, including weekends.

What You'll Do
  • Provide security coverage at healthcare facilities during afternoon and evening hours
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, and manage visitor and patient entry
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols of medical center campuses
  • Respond to security incidents, medical emergencies, and safety threats
  • De-escalate situations involving patients, visitors, and staff using professional judgment
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems throughout the facility
  • Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation
  • Communicate effectively with hospital staff, law enforcement, and CSSI dispatch
Schedule Details

This position works Friday through Monday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Tuesday through Thursday are your scheduled days off. You can expect a consistent 32 hours per week. Overtime opportunities may be available for those who want additional hours.

Compensation

$20.00 $21.00 per hour, based on site assignment. CSSI uses a post-based pay structure your hourly rate is determined by the facility you are assigned to. Overtime is paid at 1.5x for all hours over 40 in a work week.

Requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid SC SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Clean criminal background must pass SLED background check
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
  • Availability to work afternoon/evening shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform foot patrols
  • High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
  • SC SLED Armed Security Officer Registration
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience
  • Healthcare facility security experience
  • Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and incident reporting
