Position Title:
Part-Time Unarmed Security Guard, Shift-Saturday and Sunday 6am-6pm
Reports To:
Assistant Facility Manager
Location:
Nashville International Airport - Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC)
Position Summary
The Unarmed Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, employees, visitors, and assets within the Nashville International Airport Consolidated Rental Car Facility (BNA ConRAC). This position ensures compliance with airport and company safety protocols, provides exceptional customer service, and assists passengers requiring wheelchair support. The Security Guard serves as the first line of defense in preventing incidents and maintaining a professional presence throughout the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring & Patrol
  • Maintain a professional and visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other surveillance systems to identify potential security or safety issues.
  • Conduct regular patrols throughout the facility, including parking areas and perimeter zones, ensuring all access points remain secure.
  • Enforce MVI and airport safety standards to protect personnel and property.

Incident Response
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, and incidents to assist employees and customers.
  • Follow established procedures for traffic control, emergency response, and accident investigations.
  • Maintain clear communication with Airport Police, Fire Department, EMS/First Responders, and MVI Management during emergencies.
  • Note: Security Guards are not responsible for apprehending individuals.

Reporting
  • Accurately complete incident, activity, and maintenance reports as required.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment deficiencies, and work order needs to management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized documentation in accordance with MVI policies.

Access Control
  • Operate and monitor entry and exit gates as part of the Vendor Management Program.
  • Verify identification for visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel.
  • Ensure all gates remain closed and secured; employees are not permitted to prop gates open.

Wheelchair Assistance
  • Respond to calls for wheelchair assistance and provide courteous, safe transport of passengers.
  • Track and log all wheelchair pushes as required.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring each passenger experience reflects MVI's commitment to safety and care.

General Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Provide courteous and responsive customer service to all facility users.
  • Perform duties in accordance with all airport, local, state, and federal safety and security regulations.
  • Accurately clock in/out and submit timesheets via the UKG system within three (3) days of the pay period ending. Report any discrepancies immediately to a supervisor.
  • Support other team members and assist with special assignments as directed by the Security Supervisor, Facility Manager, or Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Security Guard or Officer (armed or unarmed).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass TSA background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Valid and current State Security License (Armed or Unarmed).
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, patrol methods, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol large areas for extended periods of time.
  • Proficiency with computers, surveillance equipment, and basic report-writing software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the facility for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to assist passengers with wheelchair transport as required.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment.
