The South Amboy School District has the following anticipated opening for the 2026-2027 school year:
PART TIME SCHOOL SECURITY GUARD
Responsibilities
  • Student arrival and entry/exit;
  • Monitor student parking;
  • lunch duty;
  • checking student passes;
  • assisting with violations of health and safety codes;
  • and other job-related duties.

In order to qualify for this position, the successful candidate must demonstrate:
  • The ability to work flexible hours based upon the needs of the district
  • Experience in law enforcement preferred
  • Experience in school security and/or public safety preferred.
  • Knowledge of security measures, fire prevention, and crowd control.
  • Ability to maintain order and to work with groups and individuals on matters of security and crisis management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate.
  • Use technology efficiently such as a computer, two-way radio, video monitors, buzz-in systems, electronic surveillance equipment and other devices selected by the district to be part of the school security system
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Training
  • Experience in school settings preferred
  • Experience working with school-aged students preferred

WORK WEEK: Up to 29 hours per week
SALARY: up to $28/ hourly
