We are seeking a motivated and energetic part-time 24/7 Security Officer to join our winning team. The 24/7 Security Officer is responsible for upholding the integrity of the facility and professionally correcting any guests, clients, visitors, contractors, and employees acting outside the facility's safety and security protocols. The 24/7 Security Officers observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and proactively enforce security policies for building.

This position is a part-time security officer: Day 8:00am - 4:00pm, Evening 4:00pm - 12:00am, Overnight 12:00am - 8:00am

Successful applicants generally can commit to the evening shift and are available for work throughout the week, including weekends and holidays. Essential Functions:

  • Upholds integrity of the facility at all times
  • Monitors entry and exit points and door access to all areas of the Center
  • Greets and directs guests and visitors to appropriate areas
  • Performs proper screening at check points using metal detectors, bag checks, and ID inspections
  • Ensures that no prohibited items are permitted inside the Center
  • Provides security escorts as needed
  • Maintains open and smooth access routes throughout ingress, concourse, seating, and egress areas
  • Responds to complaints from guests, clients and employees according to established policies and procedures
  • Responds to and professionally handles any incidents of undesirable behavior on Center property
  • Serves as support to police, fire personnel and medical staff responding to public safety needs
  • Provides basic asset security of property belonging to Center and its teams/clients
  • Aids in direction of orderly evacuation of building
  • Conducts perimeter checks outside the building and in parking garage
  • Drives golf cart to patrol loading dock, conduct perimeter checks, and escort when needed
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions
  • Answers radio and phone calls in Control Room, serving as dispatch during non-event hours
  • Monitors security camera screens and reports suspicious activities to Supervisor
  • Monitors and maintains remote door access, life safety, and fire control systems
  • Coordinates loading dock traffic
  • Logs lost and found items in a timely and accurate manner and handles post-event lost and found inquiries
  • Assists Guest Services with additional event and special function security needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must have a Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Minimum of six months recent security experience with a preference in the disciplines of: building or property security, loss prevention, asset protection, TSA/airport security, dispatch, law enforcement/corrections, military
  • TX DPS issued Level Two Security License preferred
  • Unlicensed applicants must apply and qualify for a TX DPS license within 14 days from date of hire
  • All applicants are required to submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Must adhere to all company safety and building protocols
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts within one of the assigned 8-hour segments of the 24-hour day (days, evenings, or overnights); including all weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Position requires the ability to stand and walk throughout shift
  • Requires the ability to climb steps and stairs on all levels of the building- from 5 to 8.5 inches per row.
  • Requires the ability to sit, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl throughout shift.
  • Requires extensive mobility to walk up and down aisles and stairs on all levels of the building- from 5 to 8.5 inches- for up to 6 hours per event, and to move quickly between floors.
  • Position requires the ability to walk, talk, and hear
  • Position requires the ability to pull open heavy doors, lift and /or move up to 25-35 pounds
  • Position could place applicant in situations that may require use of physical force while awaiting backup.
  • Position requires the ability to use hands and fingers to inspect bags, open and close doors, use keys, move stanchions, write reports, and manipulate hand-held wands and radios
  • Ability to use microphone ear piece set to communicate with Dispatch and other necessary parties
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules
  • Position requires ability to see in order to identify safety and security situations
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, during events, the noise level may be loud
  • Position is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and extreme cold
  • Position is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, as well as offensive odors and extreme heat
  • There are no set breaks; breaks are discretionary
  • Must maintain an exemplary attendance record, both in promptness and reporting as scheduled
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times when in uniform
