Job description

The Sunray Companies is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Technician for general maintenance repair, deep cleaning, inventory, move-in/move-out, and similar responsibilities. This is a part-time position and requires a flexible schedule week-to-week including some late nights and weekends. The company provides any needed supplies and tools for the position including hand, power and specialty tools, maintenance and cleaning supplies, dollies, ladders, etc. Travel is required in Greater Jackson, Mississippi area.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance repair tasks correctly, safely and by due date. General maintenance may include but is not limited to repair of fixtures or outlets, adjusting of sensors and lighting, unclogging drains, repairing or replacing faucets or other minor plumbing components, repairing or replacing locks, replacing ceiling tiles, replacing filters, sheetrock repair, touch-up painting, install shelving and doors, simple carpentry or masonry repairs, assembly as needed, maintenance troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and similar tasks
  • Complete all assigned maintenance service requests
  • Deep carpet and tile cleaning on a quarterly basis as assigned
  • Quarterly maintenance inspections as assigned
  • Flipping, moving furniture, and deep cleaning of tenant spaces for move-out/move-in
  • Regular cleaning and maintenance of physical condition of specific local properties as part of support staff
  • Inventory and organization of warehouse
  • Assist with management of online maintenance system
  • Experience with replacing flooring, sheetrock, full painting, and similar is a plus
  • Special projects or duties as assigned

This position does frequently interact with others at properties so a professional demeanor and appearance are required.

Candidates must also have:

  • At least 2 years of previous experience in building or similar maintenance
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to use and be on a ladder in excess of 8 feet
  • Ability to move through properties, access ceilings and roofs, and similar
  • Proficient in use of general maintenance equipment including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, paint equipment, and similar
  • Ability to stand for a continuous lengthy period of time
  • Time management skills
