What is the difference between Part Time Scribe vs Medical Transcriptionist?
| Aspect | Part Time Scribe | Medical Transcriptionist |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Basic medical terminology knowledge, sometimes certification | Medical transcription certification often preferred |
| Work Environment | Hospitals, clinics, outpatient facilities | Home-based, medical offices, transcription companies |
| Job Tasks | Real-time documentation during patient visits | Transcribing recorded doctor notes into written reports |
| Industry Usage | Common in healthcare settings for immediate documentation | Used for creating accurate medical records from recordings |
While both roles involve medical documentation, Part Time Scribes work directly with healthcare providers during patient visits, requiring real-time note-taking. Medical Transcriptionists typically transcribe recorded audio files into written reports, often working remotely. Understanding these differences helps job seekers choose the role that best fits their skills and career goals.

Job description
If you’re looking for a dermatology physician job in Phoenix, Arizona, or the Southwest United States, we have the opportunity you’ve been waiting for! A dermatologist is needed to help grow a busy private practice with multiple northern Arizona locations. For a dermatology specialist who is new to practice or looking to make a change, there are few better job opportunities out there.
From outstanding earning potential to having an experienced, robust support staff at your service from day one, you will be set-up to succeed. You also can expect to be busy from the moment you start your job with this comprehensive dermatology practice.
Job Opportunity for a Dermatologist
- Full-time or part-time candidates will be considered
- The earning potential is $750,000+ after the first year
- Compensation includes a base salary plus bonus as well as an opportunity to quickly earn partnership in the practice after year two
- Expect a time split between general dermatology (60%) and Mohs procedures (40%)
- The practice will train the right candidate in Mohs if necessary
- This opportunity is open to a general dermatologist and/or Mohs surgeon
Support and Expectations
- Each dermatologist has two scribes and one medical assistant
- Each dermatologist has four exam rooms
- There are a total of three offices in the Phoenix metro area, but the chosen candidate would only be expected to cover two
- A nurse practitioner provides additional support
- Expect to see 55-70 patients per day with an average of 60
- Offering clinical trials to patients is part of the practice
About the Practice and Community
With three decades of providing care, this established private dermatology practice is widely respected throughout the region by both patients and the medical community. It offers medical, cosmetic and surgical services – including Mohs for skin cancer removal – to address a wide range of skin conditions. In addition, the practice is committed to furthering the science and practice of dermatology by offering clinical trials to qualifying patients. In fact, over the past six years, the practice has participated in 30 trials.
With all the sunshine, there are few better locations to be a dermatologist than Phoenix / Northern Arizona. With multiple practice locations, the right candidate will have a number of choices of where to live and still be close to work. Being located in a major urban area, expect all the convenience and amenities of city living without the cost of living associated with Southern California or other areas.
If this opportunity sounds like a solid possibility for you, please apply today to learn more. All correspondence will be kept strictly confidential.
