Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Our physical medicine and rehabilitation practice treats patients with musculoskeletal and neurological disabilities. We are seeking a clinical medical assistant to join our stimulating and engaging team. The clinical medical assistant position is a tremendous opportunity for motivated individuals considering a career in medicine and health-related fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe clinical notes and physical examinations
  • Prepare patients and rooms for procedures
  • Assist physician during injections and electromyography studies
  • Perform nerve conduction studies
  • Manage patient prescriptions
  • Coordinate front desk activities such as scheduling and managing questionnaires and consent forms
  • Respond to phone calls and faxes
  • Help navigate worker's compensation claims alongside patients

Requirements:

  • Macbook computer required 
  • Must be able to work onsite 2-3 days a week and/or 2-3 days remote.
  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and medical terminology
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills
  • Advanced Macintosh OS skills
  • Bachelors of Science in biology, physiology, neurology, or related field is highly recommended
  • Position starts as a part time position, up to 20 hours per week with full time work a possibility as need arises. 

Experience:

  • Prior work experience, 1 year in a clinical setting preferred
  • Previous leadership position (work or school)
  • Basic pharmacology knowledge
