High School Math & Science Tutor Wanted

Love Calculus and science? Eager to help High School students succeed in math, physics, chemistry and/or biology?

Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning Richmond Hill - Oak Ridges is currently seeking part-time tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Position Requirements

All Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours: Mon - Fri 4:00pm - 8:00pm, with some Saturdays 10:30am - 2:30pm.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. No relocation packages are available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have most of the following requirements:

Education:

  • University students with excellent knowledge of the current Grades 11-12 math curriculum, but not limited to Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and Calculus, and vectors.
  • Teaching certification an asset

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at Grades 11 and 12
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Helping High School students with their math School work
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
