Job description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Laboratory Technician to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA.

Position Summary:

The technician will be responsible for performing a variety of geotechnical testing on soil, rock and construction materials in a laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform geotechnical testing, including soil classifications, compaction, moisture content, Atterberg Limits, Sieve analysis, permeability, and other standard tests.

· Prepare samples for testing and maintain accurate records of all test results.

· Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.

· Maintain a clean, organized and safe laboratory environment.

· Follow all quality standards, safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· NICET certification or ACI certification is a plus, but not required.

· No prior experience required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

· Ability to follow instructions, can work independently, and also as part of a team.

FDAE is a DBE-certified civil and environmental engineering firm. Our field technicians provide construction oversight, construction surveying, field testing, monitoring, and sampling. Our Baton Rouge office has a state-of-the-art geotechnical laboratory. Our lab is LELAP-Accredited, AASHTO-Accredited, and a USACE-Validated Lab.
