- Carry out literature searches for clinical and non-clinical staff using bibliographic and non-bibliographic databases, as well as document delivery, in relation to their needs.
- Apply advanced searching techniques to main bibliographic databases in the health sciences (i.e. Medline, PubMed, CINAHL, PsychInfo) as well as non-published sources such as registries and abstract repositories.
- Coordinate peer review of search strategies and contribute to methodological advances in search methodology, including best practices in incorporating AI and other novel methodological strategies
- Build a personal rapport and a collaborative environment with knowledge synthesis collaborators, bringing together all the pieces of the information-seeking process through the use of effective probing techniques to understand what the need is, where it originates from and filling in gaps where necessary, with regards to research question formulation, search strategy consultation, knowledge management, moral support, etc.
- Collaborate with researchers and clinical teams to clarify research questions, develop search strategies, and identify high-quality evidence sources
- Advise on publication strategies, journal selection, and citation management tools.
- Support research teams with current awareness services and targeted updates on emerging evidence in priority areas.
- Participate in educational initiatives by presenting, facilitating and preparing support materials around evidence synthesis. This includes seminars, webinars and other regional, national or international educational opportunities relevant to evidence synthesis and searching of medical literature
- Support the translation of research evidence into practice, policy, and decision making through collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and organizational stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of KT products such as evidence summaries, briefing notes, presentations, and plain language materials tailored to different audiences.
