Astrana Health is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technician to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging that supports timely, accurate patient care.

What You'll Do
  • Review the referring order and patientโ€™s medical history to identify the specific body parts that require imaging.
  • Review ultrasound patients screening form prior procedure
  • If there is any uncertainty regarding the adequacy of the study, consult with a radiologist or a senior technologist prior to proceeding
  • Provide a detailed explanation of the test to patients, outlining what they can expect during the examinationย 
  • Properly position patients and applying gel to the scan area for ultrasound scans using immobilization and protective equipment or support devices to ensure the safety of patients and staff, while also monitor patientโ€™ s well-being during scan
  • Adjust the controls on the ultrasound equipment in preparation for the imaging process and precise positing the transducer to obtain high-quality images
  • Perform high-quality imaging of specified body parts in accordance with the physiciansโ€™ directions and radiology protocols
  • Identifying normal anatomy and recognizing potential abnormalities within the ultrasound images.
  • Evaluate all images to confirm their clarity and suitability for interpretation before the patient departs, redoing any images as necessary. Always aim to minimize the call rate and reduce unnecessary radiation exposure to the patient.
  • Record and update all patient records with precise clinical information in radiology information systems.
  • Obtain the patient's explicit consent before any physical contact during the procedure.ย 
  • Be mindful of harassment prevention protocols when the patient is of the opposite sex.ย 
  • Expedite the forwarding of STAT images and create CDs when required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and perform regular maintenance tasks to keep the mammography equipment functioning effectively and inform the appropriate person when it needs repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients.
  • Perform exam room disinfection and ensure general cleanliness of exam areas.
  • Handle, safeguard, and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) strictly in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
  • Maintain inventory by checking and stocking radiologic supplies, and placing orders for future requirements.

Qualifications
  • 1+ years of ultrasound imaging experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program required
  • ARDMS registration/certification preferred
  • Ability to perform ultrasound exams per protocol, including accurate anatomical measurements and documentation of findings/pathology
  • Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions
  • This is a part-time on-site role located at 506 W. Valley Blvd. Unit #200, San Gabriel, CA 91776.ย 
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 4:00pm - 8:00pm; Saturday 8:30am - 5:00pmย 
  • The total compensation target pay range for this role is: $28.00-45.00 per hour. The salary range represents our national target range for this role.
