Job description

Novastar Prep is seeking an experienced Digital SAT Tutor to provide one-on-one, in-home SAT preparation sessions in Burke, VA and nearby Northern Virginia communities. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for educators who want to make a meaningful impact while working with students one-on-one. Tutors will also have opportunities to work with remote students.
The tutor will teach Digital SAT Reading and Writing and/or Math, with a strong emphasis on test strategy, pacing, question analysis, and score improvement. This is a one-on-one tutoring role focused specifically on Digital SAT preparation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-on-one Digital SAT instruction in students' homes or local libraries
  • Teach Reading and Writing and/or Math sections of the Digital SAT
  • Guide students through test strategies, pacing techniques, and question analysis
  • Adapt instruction to each student's skill level while maintaining structured sessions
  • Track student progress and communicate insights as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 1 year of SAT teaching or tutoring experience required
  • Strong knowledge of the Digital SAT format, adaptive structure, and question types
  • Ability to clearly explain strategies and concepts in a one-on-one setting
  • Strong communication, organization, and professionalism
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to travel to student homes or libraries in Burke, VA and nearby Northern Virginia locations
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Ability to commit to at least one academic semester
  • Ability to pass a background check

Compensation
  • $40-$45/hour for in-home instruction, based on experience
