Position Highlights
The University of Arizona's School of Anthropology invites you to apply to the role of Coordinator, Outreach and Engagement. This position is responsible for administering outreach and engagement efforts in the School. Anthropology is a large School with three undergraduate programs, a master's program, and a doctoral program. This position will provide administrative support to our staff, faculty and students across all of these programs. The successful applicant will work well in a fast-paced environment, manage many initiatives/projects independently, maintain pro-active communication with internal and external partners, and demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills. This position reports directly to the Manager of Administration and will coordinate regularly with the administrative, advising, and business teams that support programs in Anthropology as well as many partnering departments across the university campus and Tucson community. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Anthropology curriculum, experience with student engagement initiatives on campus designed to foster a sense of belonging as well as student, alumni and community engagement. This position requires knowledge of the student experience, technical competency, dedication to a team approach, personal accountability, accuracy, timeliness, and excellent communication skills.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work assignment in conversation with the supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities
Student Engagement, Outreach and Program Coordination
  • Coordinating curricular programs, events and outreach activities that increase student engagement and connect students with internships, faculty members, academic programs and professional opportunities.
  • External and community-facing outreach.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students and external partners to support successful programs and events execution.

Communications and Admin Support
  • Provide administrative and communication support to faculty and school leadership, including scheduling, coordinating logistics, preparing promotional and informational materials, maintaining outreach calendars, responding to inquiries and supporting the unit programs and initiatives.

Alumni Relations and Outreach
  • Coordinating alumni communications and event logistics
  • Maintaining relationships with alumni and community partners
  • Supporting alumni engagement strategies and programming
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.

  • Experience in anthropology, particularly in higher education.
  • Familiarity with University systems.
