Job description

We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer for a high-impact industrial automation project in the Lower Mainland. Working in collaboration with an expert engineering team, you will provide advisory-level design support and hands-on control software development for a major manufacturing application. This is a critical contract role where you will help shape the device control strategy and see the project through to successful system integration and testing.



Salary: $45 - $65 per hour. 


Terms of Employment: Part Time or Full Time


Education:

  • Relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.


Experience:

  • Previous experience in industrial automation applications, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of low-voltage controls, sensors, and networking.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, including ladder logic, function block, and structured text.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert recommendations on device control and PLC selection during the early design phase.
  • Create and develop comprehensive control software once hardware specifications are finalized.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and perform iterative updates to refine process flow and eliminate error codes.
  • Support site automation needs and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure sustainable growth of site technologies.
