Their primary role involves rotoscoping, which is tracing over footage frame by frame to produce mattes or masks, and paint work, which involves cleaning up or restoring areas of the image. They collaborate closely with other VFX artists to ensure seamless integration with the final visuals. Working part time offers flexibility, making this job suitable for students, freelancers, or those balancing multiple projects.

Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Nuke, Silhouette, and Photoshop is crucial, as well as familiarity with compositing pipelines. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities help you collaborate smoothly and meet deadlines. These skills ensure clean, seamless removal of unwanted elements from footage, which is vital for high-quality visual effects in film and TV production.
