Job description

Essential Functions
  • Provide services that meet or exceed the requirements of our clients.
  • Perform visual examinations using current API certification in accordance with applicable codes/regulations (e.g., ASME Boiler and pressure vessel Code (BPVC), governing codes/regulations).
  • Assist in reviewing findings or issues related to mechanical integrity inspections while following customer/company procedures.
  • Provide technically based inspection reports documenting code findings and/or following good industry practice recommendations.
  • Understanding process systems to complete piping systemization and circuitizations.
  • Responsible for individual project tracking and accountability for completion of field activities and reporting.
  • Demonstrate ability to audit the flow of data to ensure reliability; and control the reliability of company data.
  • Providing onsite leadership to Jr. API Inspectors and technicians to ensure professionalism, quality, and safety.
  • Review and commit to the Pledge to PROtect, and uphold to the guidelines specified within the pledge.
  • Drive Company vehicles and maintain safe driving record.
  • Working in environments/exposed to include but not limited to:
    • Elevated temperatures exceeding >100°F.
    • Confined space e.g., Towers, Drums, etc.
    • Areas with noise exposure above 85 decibels.
    • Working at heights.
    • Moving/rotating equipment.
    • Exposure to hazardous materials.

Education/Certification
  • Minimum 5 years relative experience working on API Inspections
  • Rope access card is a plus
  • Meets qualifications required by the American Petroleum Institute.
  • Must carry a minimum of one certification for a minimum of 1 year (API certifications; API570)
  • Working knowledge of NDE methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards/practices.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Lead others to follow applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Apply these safety standards in the work environment and look out for other crew members.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Ability to perform confined space entry.
  • Extensive knowledge with national standards such as API 510, 570, & 653, ASME B31.3 & B31.4 etc.
  • Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing methods such as Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UTT), etc.
  • Familiarity with various welding techniques and procedures.
  • Experience with various IDMS programs.
  • Demonstrated collaborative problem solving, excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and teamwork.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive problem solving and utilization of data in a timely manner.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking appropriate questions.
  • Able to work long periods of time, up to 16-hour days. Able to respond to callouts on short notice and to stay on site, including long-distance travel for extended periods of time.
  • Physical Demands - Able to frequently lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds on loose, rough, or uneven terrain.
  • Able to occasionally exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 150 pounds with assistance. Climbing and working at heights, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, standing for long periods, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, working in confined spaces, working in extreme cold and heat, visual acuity, working near hazards including moving mechanical parts, working near electrical components and exposures to chemicals.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and to provide instruction to others effectively and professionally.
