Pay Rate:                             $100 per S.T.E.M. instruction course

Employment Type:    Part-Time (Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM)

Work Location:             Skate City St. Louis -- 3754 Pennridge Dr. Bridgeton, MO 63044


Skate City St. Louis is looking for a motivated, passionate, and licensed educator to serve as a STEM Field Trip Instructor. Skate City STEM field trips incorporate a nationally certified curriculum tailored to teaching kids about STEM concepts related to roller skating. As a STEM Instructor, you will be presenting pre-designed STEM lessons and presentations to school aged children ranging from first grade through eighth grade. The STEM instruction portion of the field trips are approximately 35-45 minutes in length. STEM Instructors would only be needed for the instruction portion of the field trip.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Lead structured STEM lessons connected to roller skating concepts such as motion, force, friction, balance, and engineering design.

·      Deliver interactive, age-appropriate instruction for elementary and middle school students.

·      Facilitate hands-on activities, demonstrations, and guided discussions.

·      Adapt instruction to varying group sizes and learning levels.

·      Coordinate transitions between STEM instruction and skating activities.

·      Collaborate with Skate City management and rink staff on timing and schedule for specific STEM events.

·      Manage supplies & equipment for STEM

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·      Relevant experience working with children in education or recreational settings

·      Strong verbal communication and presentation skills

·      Ability to manage large groups

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·      Bachelor’s degree with coursework or emphasis in STEM subjects.

·      Certification or background in education, preferably in grade school or middle school settings.

·      Knowledge of STEM concepts, to include basic physics and engineering topics.
