Job Description


The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accuracy in all areas of accounts receivable operations, overseeing and processing incoming payments, and ensuring incoming revenue is secured properly through the accurate verification and posting of receipts.


We are seeking a reliable team member for a part-time role. The successful candidate must be available to work a fixed schedule with the same hours each week. This is an in-office position, and all work must be performed on-site. Remote work is not available. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and process customer invoices in adherence to billing schedules
  • Apply, with high level of detail, customer payments to correct accounts
  • Generate statements, reminders, and follow-up correspondence to facilitate payments
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging report to proactively identify potential concerns
  • Assist with month-end close with preparation of cash deposit reconciliations
  • Manage the collections process, including follow-up calls on delinquent accounts
  • Collaborate with Advancement to reconcile fundraising cash deposits
  • Oversee scheduling and logistics for student transportation, including daily routes, field trips, and extracurricular activities
  • Serve as the primary contact for transportation vendors, parents, and staff, addressing transportation needs and concerns
  • Act as billing liaison between Sewickley Academy and Metz Culinary Management our outsourced dining vendor 
  • Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s preferred 
  • 1-3 years of experience required with Quickbooks Online, specifically with accounts receivable processes
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes
  • Proficiency with MS Office - Excel and Word
  • Experience with customer service and client communication
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation
This is a part-time, non-benefit-eligible position with a pay range of $25–$30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
