Job description

JOB TITLE: Security Patrol Officer
GRADE: Part-time available
REPORTING TO:  Site Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Elk Grove, CA
COMPENSATION: $18.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on position, experience and qualifications
SHIFTS: 2100-0500 (graveyard shifts)
Benefits: Yes, Medical/Dental/Vision available for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week (FT); after 60 days of employment. Paid vacation for full-time employees. Also, Holiday Pay/Paid Training and Development for part-time and full-time employees.

Security Officer Job Purpose:
Maintains safe and secure environment for the assigned site, client, and employees by controlling access, patrolling and monitoring premises. Security and/or Roving officer will guard the assigned site against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Required to enforce parking. This job classification requires knowledge of security procedures and policies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Knows and can assume the duties of all other non-supervisory security positions.
B. Knows and enforces all of the assigned rules/policies
C. Have complete knowledge of the assigned site street and amenities.
D. Assist in the collection and reporting of statistical information and data.
E. Responds to non-emergency calls for service, and, within the limits of his/her knowledge, experience, the law, and policies, attempts to prevent or reduce injury or loss of property to the assigned site, its members and/or guests until relieved by responsible public agencies.
F. Monitors and responds to fire and/or rescue calls to assist as needed and able.
G. Enforces CC&R's
H. Documents violations
I. Documents activities, collisions, crimes, policy violations, and other events as required, in a neat, concise manner and on the proper report form and format.
J. Maintains a good working relationship with local public enforcement and other agencies.
K. Within the limits of the job objectives, assist public agencies when requested.
L. Maintains a neat and professional appearance.
M. Ability to work with and/or without supervision
N. Checks all assigned site's buildings, roadways, and other property for damage, intrusion, security violations, and/or hazards reporting the results on required forms.
O. Officer is required to patrol in a non-routine manner, in an assigned vehicle, with the objective of preventing or stopping criminal or other unacceptable conduct.
P. Be familiar with all facilities and amenities of the assigned site
Q. Officers will present themselves as courteous and professional at all times.
R. Maintains control and is objective when faced with occasional verbally abusive persons.
S. Any other duties as may be required by operations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A. Must possess a valid California State Guard Card issued by BSIS
B. Must possess a valid California Driver License (for mobile patrol)
C. Must possess a High School diploma
D. Must have security experience
E. Must have experience with customer service and client interaction
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
A. Physical Demands - Excellent physical condition, seeing, hearing/listening, complete speech, dexterity, smelling, driving, running, sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting/carrying 50 lb. Use of vehicles, computers, radio, and phone. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
B. Mental demands - Complex reading of technical reports, names/addresses, reports, maps, and written directions, math skills including algebra clerical, memorization, analyzing, perception/comprehension, judgment, decision making, attention to detail critical concerning surroundings and data entry, frequent repetition of data entry and tasks, investigation skills, supervision.
C. Environmental Demands - Works alone and with others, verbal and face to face contact, shift work, extended day, inside/outside, extreme heat/cold, temperature changes, wet and/or humid, noise from vehicles and sirens, vibration, mechanical/electrical equipment, burning materials, moving objects, dirt/dust, may be exposed to vehicle exhaust and gas fumes.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed on foot and in a patrol vehicle. Exposure to extreme cold and changing weather conditions.
