Position Summary:ย As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Nurseย willย provide healthcare services to students and staff, promote overall wellness, andย ensureย a safe and healthy school environment. This role involves managing student health needs, responding to emergencies, and supporting physical and mental well-being throughout the school community.ย 

Theย Nurseย willย leadย theย development and ongoing management of a culturally competent, comprehensive, individualized care plan with eachย individual youth.ย Assess individuals/families with behavioral health and/or substance use needs and provide treatment and referral services.ย Provides medical case management oversight and consultation forย South County Academyย programs.ย Assures compliance for agency and state/federalย medicationย supply storage and disposal procedures for assigned programs.ย The Nurseย willย also prepare and execute student group curriculum which promotes healthy lifestyles and public health education.ย Provides emergency crisis interventions and assessments as needed. Provide clinical treatment for clients as needed.ย ย ย 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™sย degreeย inย nursingย (BSN)ย andย aย RNย licensedย in theย stateย ofย RIย ย ย 

  • Experienceย workingย inย aย residential healthcareย setting, preferablyย inย careย managementย ย ย 

  • Experienceย withย children,ย adolescentsย andย adultsย fromย diverseย social,ย culturalย andย ethnicย backgroundsย ย ย 

  • Skilled in operating variousย medicalย record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programsย 

  • Spanish Speaking preferred and is compensatedย 

  • Excellent multitasking and communication skillsย a mustย 

  • Ability to work independently and part of a teamย  ย ย ย 

  • Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.

  • Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.

Physical Requirements:ย ย This position requires community visits, employees in this position must have the ability to:ย 

  • Current driverโ€™s license, reliable transportation,ย registrationย and auto insuranceย ย ย ย 

  • Ability to communicate effectivelyย  ย ย ย 

  • Travel to and from, community locations and office site, which could include using walkways,ย stairsย and/or elevatorsย ย ย ย 

  • Ability toย lift upย to 20lbsย ย ย 

  • Provide emergency coverage; ratio to the programs as needed.ย
