Job Shift: Rotate

Job Type: Per Diem

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment and the insertion of vascular access lines for patients requiring an intravenous access device. Responsibility also includes coordinating the process of vascular access line placements, communication with primary care nurses and providing education for care and maintenance of vascular access devices. The Vascular Access Nurse directs the access process and team members, establishing a positive and professional rapport with other departments and staff, focusing on the provision of individualized quality patient care consistent with organizational standards and goals.

Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years. Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the only state designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county by the State of Florida. EDUCATION:

  • Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years of experience in placing venous access devices. Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. Experience placing PICC lines preferred.


REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

  • PICC LINE certification required.
  • Registration and current RN state license,
  • BLS. ACLS certification, PALS certification is preferred.
