Job description

Pennswood Village is seeking Part-Time RNs for their Skilled Nursing Unit! Excellent staffing ratios!  Schedule an interview to see our beautiful community and meet our wonderful and caring staff.

Shifts Available: Saturday & Sunday, Every other weekend, 3-11:30 pm

Rate: $42-46.00/hr

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibility delegated to her/him so long as such action does not deviate from established policy and practice as defined by Pennswood Village and the current Pennsylvania Professional Nursing Act in the management of patient care services in the Skilled Nursing Facility and the Personal Care Facility.

  • Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the individual patient plan of care as a part of the interdisciplinary team.  
  • Maintain accurate and objective written and oral communications.  
  • Function as the nurse in charge in the absence of the DON or Nursing Supervisor.  
  • Carry out professional responsibilities both independently and in collaboration with other staff.  
  • Plan and manage patient care assignments.  
  • Provide demonstration, supervision and evaluation of care given by LPN's, nursing assistants, orderlies, and the orientation of new staff.  
  • Participate in the development of the patient care policies and the standards of nursing practice.  
  • Establish safe and accurate working habits in the delivery of individual patient care.  
  • Consistently seeks to extend professional knowledge and improve skills.
  • Maintain and insure the personal rights of all patients through knowledge of and leadership in advocating the Patient's Bill of Rights.  
  • Participate in maintaining an ongoing inservice educational and orientation program for Health Service staff.  
  • Actively participate in monitoring the medical alert and fire alarm systems.  
  • Perform laboratory clinical procedures
