Retail Cashier
Reports To: Commercial Operations Manager
Department: Retail
Status: Part Time Seasonal
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Date: 8/11/2026
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Retail Cashier position is responsible for selling all merchandise in Granby Ranch Retail Shop. The Cashier provides friendly, fast, and efficient service to all Granby Ranch guests. This position assists with monthly inventory counts, keeping products stocked on the floor and communicating items to be replenished to manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Accurately process purchases utilizing point of sale system and process payment with efficiency.
  • Accountable for monetary exchanges at the cash register including cash handling, processing credit cards, and applying discounts accurately.
  • Assist guests with shopping, helping them with sizing and showing them items available.
  • Stay informed on ski area operations, overall Granby Ranch operations and events.
  • Keep shop and storage room organized, clean and always stocked.
  • Communicate with manager in a timely manner when items need to be reordered.
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts.
  • Assist manager/supervisor with rearranging merchandise on the floor to keep the shop looking fresh.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with Rentals, Scanning and Ski School departments when needed and as requested.
  • Opportunity to be certified to tech ski equipment.
  • Learn how to boot fit to assist with Rental department.
  • Be aware of ticket products to communicate effectively with guests.
  • Assist with Ticket Scanning outside during lunch breaks and high-volume season.
  • Maintain an exceptional level of professionalism in all interactions with guests, fellow employees, and other department managers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
  • Highly developed customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle guest interactions, both positive and negative, in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a demanding, fast-paced work environment.
  • Attention to detail.

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Weekend and holiday work required.

Granby Ranch is located in Granby, Colorado (90 miles northwest of Denver) and all jobs are performed on site. Employee housing is available for full-time seasonal and year-round employees.
A criminal background check will be conducted after an employment offer is accepted and must be successfully completed prior to starting work. The background check will be completed in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Salary Description
$18.00 an hour
