JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences is seeking applicants for part-time job of Part-Time Research Support.
The Martins Lab in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences is seeking a part-time research support staff member to assist with laboratory research focused on avian viruses, diagnostics, pathogenesis, and vaccine development. Responsibilities include supporting laboratory activities in classical and molecular virology, such as cell culture, embryonated chicken eggs, virus inoculation, virus neutralization, ELISA, nucleic acid purification, and PCR. Additional duties include maintaining and cleaning laboratory equipment, performing decontamination procedures, preparing and sterilizing materials and media, organizing supplies, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:
  • Training will be provided

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
