Part Time Remote Veterinary information

How do part time remote veterinary professionals typically collaborate with on-site veterinary teams?

Part-time remote veterinary professionals often work closely with on-site staff through digital communication tools such as video calls, messaging platforms, and shared medical records systems. They may provide telemedicine consultations, review diagnostic results, and offer treatment recommendations, ensuring seamless patient care. Regular virtual meetings and clear protocols are important for maintaining effective collaboration and up-to-date knowledge of clinic practices. This structure enables remote vets to contribute meaningfully while balancing flexible schedules.

What is the difference between Part Time Remote Veterinary vs Part Time Remote Veterinary Technician?

AspectPart Time Remote VeterinaryPart Time Remote Veterinary Technician
CredentialsVeterinary degree or licenseVeterinary technician certification (CVT, RVT, or LVMT)
Work EnvironmentRemote client consultations, case managementRemote support tasks, assisting veterinarians
Industry UsageVeterinary clinics, telehealth servicesVeterinary clinics, telehealth, animal care support

Part Time Remote Veterinary roles typically require a veterinary degree and involve remote client interactions and case management. In contrast, Part Time Remote Veterinary Technicians usually hold certification and focus on supporting veterinarians through remote technical tasks. Both roles are integral to veterinary telehealth services but differ mainly in credentials and specific responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time remote veterinary professional?

To thrive as a Part Time Remote Veterinary Professional, you need a veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent), relevant licensure, and a solid background in animal health and diagnostics. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic medical records, and scheduling software is typically required. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and empathy are essential soft skills for effectively consulting with pet owners remotely. These competencies ensure accurate care, client satisfaction, and professional accountability in a virtual veterinary environment.

What is a part time remote veterinary professional?

A part time remote veterinary position allows licensed veterinarians to provide consultations, advice, and follow-up care to pet owners through telemedicine platforms, working fewer hours than a full-time role and from a location of their choice. These roles typically involve reviewing patient histories, answering client questions, and offering medical guidance via video calls, phone, or chat. While remote veterinarians may not perform hands-on procedures, they play a vital role in triage, education, and support for pet owners who may not have immediate access to in-person veterinary care.

  • Board-certified specialists whom you can reach out to for expertise on any case.
  • Opportunities for growth into leadership positions, commensurate with experience. And that's just a few of them.
Positive Culture:
  • Support near and far. We have a highly-skilled remote team of nurses to lend support with client needs, triaging cases, and assisting with day-to-day tasks when things get busy in the clinic.
  • Direct communication with leadership and influence over policies. If you're thoughtful, we're listening - let's build a better vet clinic together.
  • We have your back - we don't tolerate poor behavior from clients.

We Offer

  • Pay Range $145,000-$180,000 Depending on Experience
  • Flexible employment models so that you can find the option that works best for you.
