Job description

Senior Product ManagerAll About Aeries

Aeries is a leading EdTech company with a data-driven Student Information System (SIS) used by over 750 K-12 school districts with millions of users throughout California and Texas. With a rich history of innovation and a proven track record of developing software focused on the whole student, Aeries ensures that student data empowers success and never impedes.

At Aeries, our mission is to deliver data-driven, intuitive, and innovative solutions that unite learning communities to advance student success. We believe strongly in the supporting role of technology in education but recognize that there's no replacement for the wisdom and determination of the real people supporting students' academic successes every day. That's why our goal is to build tools that allow educators to focus on what they do best: educating.

About the Job

The Senior Product Manager is a high-autonomy product leader who drives complex, multi-stakeholder product initiatives independently, from discovery through delivery. The Senior PM proactively identifies opportunities, builds conviction through research and customer evidence, and executes across ambiguous and fast-moving environments with confidence. This role owns one or more complex solution areas within the K-12 SIS platform and is accountable for outcomes end-to-end. The Senior PM navigates competing priorities, resolves cross-functional dependencies, and makes high-impact trade‑off decisions without requiring escalation. They bring strong judgment, a bias for action, and the ability to drive clarity for teams and stakeholders when inputs are incomplete or conditions are shifting.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead continuous discovery cycles - interviews, site visits, usability testing, and contextual inquiry - developing testable hypotheses and running structured experiments to drive evidence-based decisions. Build rapid prototypes and lead customer feedback sessions to validate solution directions.
  • Own beta and pilot program strategy, including customer selection, evaluation criteria, and synthesis. Maintain deep expertise in K-12 district personas.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research, competitive analysis, and opportunity assessment, and to draft requirements and stakeholder communications at speed. Evaluate and recommend AI/ML capabilities for integration into the SIS platform, and champion AI literacy across the product team.
  • Independently build and maintain a multi-quarter, outcome‑oriented roadmap by continuously discovering and validating the intersection of customer needs, industry trends, and business goals. Use structured prioritization frameworks to make trade‑off decisions and communicate rationale to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Maintain deep expertise in the K-12 legislative and regulatory landscape and proactively surface implications for product strategy.
  • Drive cross‑functional and cross‑divisional alignment independently to build consensus on shared priorities. Lead go‑to‑market alignment with cross‑functional teams and own the post‑launch feedback loop with Customer Success to synthesize learnings back into discovery.
  • Engage with customers and external stakeholders at conferences and advisory sessions.
  • Identify and close gaps in product development workflows and tooling, establishing standardized processes and driving consistent adoption across the team.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and KPI tracking to ensure leadership visibility into product performance, customer feedback trends, and feature impact.
  • Provide informal guidance and mentorship to junior team members without direct management authority.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS Product Management experience, with demonstrated expertise in customer research, discovery, and prototype‑based validation.
  • Demonstrated experience in K-12 EdTech, Student Information Systems, or education administration software strongly preferred.
  • Experience with structured discovery frameworks and familiarity with product analytics platforms; strong knowledge of Agile processes and iterative product development.
  • Agile or product management certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency with modern product management tools including Azure DevOps, Jira, Aha!, or equivalent, as well as AI prototyping and productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, Figma).
