Compensation: $1500-$2000 Fixed Monthly Stipend (Flat Rate)

Position Overview

Obran Health is seeking a Medical Director to provide clinical oversight for two of our California-based Home Healthcare Agencies. You will ensure our medical services are integrated, safe, and fully compliant with state mandates. This role is strictly administrative and consultative, focused on high-level quality management rather than direct primary care.

Obran Health is part of Obran Cooperative, the first worker-owned cooperative conglomerate in the United States. Unlike traditional healthcare corporations, Obran is owned by its workers. In our healthcare division, we prioritize clinical excellence and worker agency, ensuring that those who do the work have a voice in how the organization is run.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Oversight: Act as the registered Physician lead in accordance with California Title 22
  • Clinical Quality Management & QAPI:
    • Actively participate in the Quality Management program
    • Attend Quarterly QAPI meetings to review clinical outcomes and patient safety data
  • Clinical Governance and Consultation:
    • Conduct occasional chart reviews to ensure documentation meets medical necessity
    • Review and approve clinical protocols and treatment guidelines
    • Provide remote guidance to the Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) on complex cases
  • Laboratory Oversight: Ensure agency compliance with state CLIA California requirements
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted California Physician's License (MD or DO)
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with California Title 22 and Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs)
  • Malpractice Insurance: Candidate must maintain their own insurance
  • Familiarity/experience with Home Healthcare
Work Schedule & Compensation
  • Commitment: 8-10 hours/month
  • Location: 100% Remote
  • Pay: Flat-rate monthly stipend $1500-$2000/month
Why Join a Cooperative?

At Obran, we believe that workers are humans first. As a Medical Director, you will be part of an organization that fosters dignity and respect. While this is a part-time contract role, you will be supporting a team of clinicians who have the opportunity to become worker-owners, sharing in the profits and governance of the company they build.

Equal Opportunity: Obran is deeply committed to creating workplaces where equity is prioritized. We strongly encourage applications from people of color, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and members of other marginalized communities.
