What is a Part Time Remote RN?

A Part Time Remote RN is a Registered Nurse who works part-time hours and performs their duties remotely, often from home, using technology to communicate with patients and healthcare teams. These nurses may provide telehealth services, patient education, case management, or triage support over the phone or online. This role allows nurses to balance work with other commitments while still using their clinical skills to support patient care. Remote RNs must be licensed and typically need experience in clinical settings before transitioning to remote work.

Part Time Remote Rn and Part Time Remote Lpn roles both involve providing patient care remotely, but RNs typically have more advanced training and responsibilities. RNs often handle complex patient assessments and care planning, while LPNs focus on basic patient support. Both roles are in telehealth and healthcare industries, but RNs usually require higher credentials and may have broader job responsibilities.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time remote RNs, and how can they be managed?

Part-time remote RNs often face challenges such as maintaining effective communication with healthcare teams, managing time efficiently across multiple patients or tasks, and adapting to limited in-person interaction with both colleagues and patients. To overcome these, it's important to leverage digital communication tools, establish a consistent work routine, and proactively seek support or clarification when needed. Regular check-ins with supervisors and peers can also help remote RNs stay integrated with the team and ensure high-quality patient care.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Remote RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Remote RN, you need an active RN license, strong clinical judgment, and solid experience in nursing practice. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication systems is typically required. Outstanding organization, self-motivation, and clear virtual communication skills help you excel in remote patient care. These abilities ensure effective, high-quality nursing care is delivered safely and efficiently from a distance.

What We Do:

At BuckledIn, we eliminate transportation as a barrier to children’s success. We do this by mobilizing outstanding adults who want to have a positive impact on children. Our drivers transport many school-age students experiencing homelessness, living in foster care, living with mental or emotional special needs, or other circumstances that make traditional yellow school buses a poor transportation option.  That’s where we come in.

We match each student with a part-time driver who takes that student to and from school every day. Many of our drivers are current or former teachers, nurses, nannies, babysitters, personal caregivers, nursing home aides, social workers, parents, and grandparents who are eager to be a positive influence in their student’s lives.

Driven to Learn: Curious, open-minded, and always improving. We embrace feedback, seek new ideas, and grow so we can serve better every day.
