Physician - TeleICU Nocturnist | Part-Time

Location: Remote (Supporting Virtua Health Hospitals in South Jersey)

Virtua Health is seeking a Part-Time TeleICU Physician to provide overnight critical care coverage across our health system. This remote position offers the opportunity to leverage advanced telemedicine technology to support bedside teams, enhance patient safety, and deliver high-quality critical care from the comfort of your home.

About the Role

As a TeleICU Nocturnist, you will provide virtual overnight critical care support to ICU patients across Virtua Health's network. Working in partnership with on-site physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams, you will help manage complex patient care, identify clinical deterioration, and provide real-time critical care expertise during overnight hours.

This position is ideal for physicians seeking a flexible, part-time opportunity while remaining engaged in high-acuity critical care practice.

What You'll Do

  • Provide remote overnight critical care consultation and oversight for ICU patients across multiple Virtua Health hospitals.
  • Monitor patient status through advanced TeleICU technology and proactively identify changes in clinical condition.
  • Collaborate with bedside physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and specialists to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Support rapid intervention and evidence-based management of critically ill patients.
  • Assist with adherence to critical care best practices, quality initiatives, and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding complex patient management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with overnight care teams across the health system.

Compensation:

In compliance with New Jersey pay transparency laws, all clinician roles include a posted minimum base salary. This role offers a base starting salary at $235,000.00. Final compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and prevailing market factors.
