UW Medical Center-Northwest - Surgical Services and Hernia Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Part Time Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Part time / 30 hours per week
  • Tuesday-Friday (with Mondays and weekends off)
  • 8:00am-4:00pm

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our Surgical Services and Hernia Center at Meridian Pavilion is the leader in advanced surgical services for the Seattle community and beyond. We offer the latest in a variety of minimally invasive treatment options, including the da Vinci Si Robotic Surgical System. Our board-certified surgeons have extensive experience and a track record of surgical excellence, and our care extends beyond the operating table. Every service we provide in our newly expanded and enhanced surgical facility is personalized to fit each patient's unique needs, and partnerships are an integral aspect of the care plans we design with our patients.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Play a critical role helping patients navigate their care in a clinic environment that provides advanced surgical services and minimally invasive treatments
  • Work in close partnership with surgeons and mid-level practitioners
  • Provide medical care across the pre- and post-surgical continuum
  • Regularly perform wound care, complex dressing changes, catheter removals, drain pulls and suture removals, and skin graft bolster takedowns
  • Assist our providers with minor procedures, including excisions and wound debridement
  • Answer patient calls and MyChart messages
  • Obtain medical records and test results
  • Provide nursing advice in person, via phone and via telehealth

REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 years of nursing work experience with surgical patients
  • Active BLS
  • Active licensure to work as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
