Direct Support Professional (DSP) Part-Time | Behavioral Support | Lake Oswego, OR


About Empowered Services

Empowered Services is an Oregon-based, one-on-one home care agency providing Direct Support Professional (DSP) services, caregiver support, and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).We focus on person-centered care, community-based support, and independent living skills, helping individuals live meaningful, connected lives.


Position Overview

We are hiring a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide 1:1 in-home care and community-based support for a child in the Lake Oswego, OR area.


This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in:

  • Behavioral support
  • Mental health / trauma-informed care
  • Childcare or youth development
  • Caregiving / CNA / DSP roles


About the Individual Youll Support

You will be supporting a child who:

  • Enjoys sports, music, outdoor activities, and games
  • Thrives with structure, routine, and clear communication
  • May take time to build trust, but becomes highly engaging
  • Has a history of behavioral challenges that have improved with consistency


This role is ideal for someone who is:
patient, energetic, consistent, and confident with behavioral support


Schedule

  • Sunday: 1:30 PM 6:30 PM
  • Monday: Approximately 3:00 PM 7:00 PM
  • Every other Saturday for a 6-7 hour shift
    (Start and end times may vary slightly)


Pay & Benefits

  • $23$25 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

What Youll Do (DSP / Caregiver Duties)

  • Provide direct care and ADL support (meals, hygiene, daily routines)
  • Support community outings (parks, activities, recreational engagement)
  • Use behavioral support strategies and trauma-informed care
  • Build a consistent, trusting relationship
  • Encourage social skills, independence, and communication
  • Maintain structured routines and smooth transitions
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment
  • Complete documentation and daily notes


Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Current full coverage auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
  • Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
  • Experience with trauma-informed care / behavioral support

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience as a DSP, caregiver, CNA, behavioral technician, or childcare provider
  • Experience supporting individuals with I/DD, autism, or mental health needs
  • CPR / First Aid certification
