Compensation Project Manager

Part-Time | 30 Hours Per Week | Irvine, CA | Hybrid, 2-3 Days Onsite

Full Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, and PTO

Savage Search Associates is conducting a confidential search for a highly experienced compensation and total rewards professional to support a specialized organization in compensation consulting, training, content development, and client-facing project work.

This is a hands-on role ideal for a compensation subject matter expert who enjoys managing a variety of projects, applying deep knowledge of pay practices and compensation structures, and communicating complex compensation concepts clearly to internal and external audiences.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Provide compensation consulting support to current and prospective clients, including developing compensation proposals and helping design compensation programs aligned with business needs.
  • Support the design, development, and enhancement of compensation and total rewards training materials.
  • Review and update compensation-related course content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current market practices.
  • Identify, develop, and write educational content, including white papers, articles, and blog posts focused on compensation and total rewards topics.
  • Design and present compensation-related webinars or training sessions as needed.
  • Stay current on compensation practices, pay trends, regulatory considerations, and emerging total rewards strategies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support compensation-related client initiatives, marketing efforts, and educational programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • 7-8+ years of progressive compensation experience, ideally within a corporate headquarters, multi-state, or multi-national environment.
  • Strong knowledge of annual compensation program design, including compensation strategy, market pricing, salary structure development, compa-ratio analysis, and salary increase guidelines.
  • Experience using compensation survey tools, market pricing platforms, or compensation data systems.
  • Subject matter expertise in compensation and total rewards programs.
  • Prior experience creating, updating, or facilitating compensation training programs.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to develop professional compensation-related content.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems creatively and practically.
  • Ability to present compensation concepts, tools, and technologies to external customers or business stakeholders.
  • CCP designation (Certified Compensation Professional) through WorldatWork is highly preferred.

Additional Information

This is a regular, part-time hybrid position based in Irvine, California. The role is expected to be approximately 30 hours per week, with 2-3 days per week in the office.
