Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned College Advisor to guide high school and college students through every stage of the admissions process. This is a part-time, contract role ideal for an experienced educator or admissions professional who values flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful one-on-one work with motivated students and families.

Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience supporting students through a full Common Application cycle โ€“ from building the college list to submitting final applications and reviewing results. This requirement is essential and non-negotiable.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Meet virtually with students to provide individualized, high-touch guidance through the full college planning process.
  • Lead students through the complete Common Application cycle, including building and refining a balanced college list, completing the Common Application and supplements, crafting essays and personal statements, developing resumes and preparing for interviews, managing timelines, reviewing submissions, and ensuring application accuracy.
  • Offer strategic advice on testing, application positioning, and financial aid.
  • Help families interpret admissions outcomes and navigate next steps (waitlists, transitions, and early college readiness).
  • Maintain consistent communication with students and parents to ensure clarity, accountability, and momentum.
  • Collaborate with Novella Prepโ€™s team to share insights, ensure quality, and refine best practices.
