Job description

Luther Lanard, PC is a boutique law firm specializing in Franchise law. We are experiencing tremendous growth and are looking for a remote part-time litigation attorney with at least 5  years of prior business litigation experience (experience in Franchise law is a plus but not required).

You must have impeccable writing skills, a fervor for finding creative resolutions, and a desire to learn. We resolve most disputes without having to file a lawsuit or arbitration demand. This role is ideal for someone wanting to keep their skills sharp and stay honed in their craft, but need flexibility in their professional life.  

Candidates must be able to work at least 70 hours a month, but we are open to both part-time and full-time candidates. 

Compensation:

$90 - $110 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Independently handle pre-lawsuit dispute matters from start to finish 
  • Identify claims and help clients navigate their options 
  • Draft demand letters and settlement agreements 
  • Handle mediations 
  • Effectively confer with franchisors and opposing counsel 
  • Set and manage client expectations 

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school 
  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar
  • Recent Litigation experience required
  • Must be deadline-driven and organized 
  • Expertise in persuasive negotiations, professional legal writing, and legal research
  • Utilize independent problem-solving skills 
  • High Technical acumen (Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, LexisNexis, cloud-based applications, etc.)
  • Experience utilizing AI is a plus
