Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop) or Procreate, and sometimes a relevant degree or certification, is typically expected. These illustrators are typically hired by companies, publishers, or clients to produce artwork for books, advertisements, websites, and more. They use digital tools and software to complete their assignments and often communicate with clients via email or video calls. The flexibility of remote and part-time work allows illustrators to manage their own schedules and take on multiple projects as freelancers or contract workers.

This is a contract role (up to 20 hours per week), with hours varying based on project needs. We're looking for a long-term partner who is passionate about leading discovery, shaping strategy, and growing with our company.
Rate: $40-$85/hour (based on experience)
Note: This is a contract position and does not include benefits.

  • Conduct ongoing user research and usability testing
  • Design, execute, and evaluate studies to improve user experience
  • Document findings and translate insights into clear requirements and strategy
  • Build user scenarios and strategic UX deliverables
  • Mentor, train, and support UI/UX team members
  • Track and analyze UX metrics to inform design decisions
  • Promote collaboration and design excellence across the team
Requirements & Qualifications

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI work and process
  • Experience leading client discovery sessions and workshops
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate and defend design decisions
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design, usability, and design thinking
