Job description

This is a remote position.

Consumer-protection firm representing homeowners in disputes with residential solar contractors, financiers, and servicers. Our matters typically involve rescission, UCL/CLRA-type claims, contract disputes, and consumer arbitrations. We are looking for an experienced attorney to take on a recurring role speaking directly with clients, advising on strategy, and moving matters forward — starting on a project basis with the intent to convert to an ongoing Remote Associate arrangement (approximately 10–20 hours per week) if the fit is right. What you'll do: Handle scheduled client calls — intake follow-ups, status updates, strategy discussions Advise clients on options, risks, and next steps in plain, accessible language Review incoming correspondence from respondents, servicers, and opposing counsel and recommend responses Move consumer arbitration matters forward — pre-arbitration demands, filings, hearings, and settlement discussions Coordinate with firm staff on document requests, evidence gathering, and case posture Occasional drafting: demand letters, arbitration briefs, settlement communications Ideal candidate: Active bar admission in California, Texas, or Arizona (any of the three is fine — we match matters to jurisdiction) Meaningful consumer protection and/or civil litigation experience Direct arbitration experience (AAA and/or JAMS consumer rules preferred) Comfortable being client-facing — warm, patient, and clear on the phone Spanish fluency strongly preferred (most of our clients are Spanish-speaking) Solo, of-counsel, or contract-attorney background is welcome Reliable weekly availability and responsive turnaround Logistics: Remote, flexible schedule within business hours Start with a defined project engagement to evaluate fit; convert to Remote Associate (~10–20 hrs/week) after Rate: market — please propose your hourly rate when applying Anticipated start: as soon as we identify the right candidate To apply, please include: Bar admission(s) and year(s) Brief description of consumer / civil litigation and arbitration experience Spanish proficiency (native, fluent, conversational, or none) Weekly availability and proposed hourly rate A short writing sample if available (redacted is fine)

RequirementsAbout the Role

We are a fast-paced consumer-protection law firm representing homeowners in disputes involving residential solar contractors, installers, financiers, lenders, and servicing companies.

Our matters commonly involve:

  • Contract rescission and cancellation

  • Unfair competition and consumer-protection claims, including UCL- and CLRA-type claims

  • Fraud, misrepresentation, and deceptive sales practices

  • Contract formation, enforcement, and performance disputes

  • Financing and servicing disputes

  • Pre-litigation resolution and settlement negotiations

  • Consumer arbitrations before AAA and JAMS

We are currently seeking experienced attorneys licensed in California, Arizona, or Texas to support matters arising in each jurisdiction. Applicants are not required to be licensed in all three states. Matters will be assigned according to the attorney's active bar admission, experience, and availability.

This opportunity begins either on an hourly basis or on a defined project-by-project basis, depending on the firm's needs and the candidate's experience. The initial engagement is intended to serve as a trial period for both the firm and the attorney to evaluate communication, responsiveness, legal judgment, and overall fit.

Our goal is to build long-term relationships with attorneys who become an extension of our team. Attorneys who are a strong fit may be invited to transition into an ongoing Remote Associate role, with an anticipated workload of approximately 10–20 hours per week, and the potential for additional hours as the firm's caseload continues to grow.

Although the role begins part-time, our firm operates in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of active matters and frequent client, opposing counsel, and vendor communications. We are looking for attorneys who can quickly assess a file, identify practical next steps, communicate effectively with clients, and confidently manage multiple matters while maintaining excellent judgment and responsiveness.
