St. Thomas More Catholic School is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Part-Time Receptionist to serve as the welcoming first point of contact for our students, families, staff, and visitors.


The Receptionist plays an important role in creating a warm, professional, and safe environment for our school community. This position requires someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well, can manage multiple priorities, and is comfortable working in a busy school setting.


Responsibilities
  • Welcome and assist students, parents, staff, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries.
  • Monitor the school's front entrance and assist with visitor check-in and school security procedures.
  • Assist parents and families with questions, requests, and routine school needs.
  • Receive and distribute mail, deliveries, and other materials. 
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with routine office tasks.
  • Support attendance procedures, including documenting absences and communicating with families as needed.
  • Assist with student sign-in/sign-out and other student-related office procedures.
  • Communicate important information to teachers, administrators, and staff.
  • Assist with scheduling, forms, filing, copying, scanning, and other administrative duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and staff information.
  • Provide general support to the school office and assist with special projects and events as needed.
  • Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional front office environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous receptionist, administrative, customer service, or school office experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, parents, teachers, administrators, and visitors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and other common office technology.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while also being a strong team member.
