Job Objective:

Performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment.

Job Description:

Education:Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent trainingLicensure/Certification:Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy permit; must obtain fluoroscopy permit within twelve (12) months of hire if graduated before January 1, 2011 from Diagnostic Radiology Technology program with CRT license; American Heart Association BLSExperience:Required: N/AReports To: Manager or DirectorSupervises: N/A Ages of Patients (as assigned): Neonate/ Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, GeriatricBlood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/No Potential

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Ability to operate radiographic equipment (i.e C-ARM, R&F room and portable equipment), Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines, Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.2. Obtains all pertinent medical information from patient to identify age specific needs.3. Performs Radiographic procedures of high technical quality.4. Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient from excessive radiation.5. Uses of all equipment efficiently; reports all deficiencies to immediate supervisor.6. Stocks x-ray rooms between exams and at end of shift.7. Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered and assists Radiologist performing procedure.8. Takes on additional procedures during periods of heavy workload.9. Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms.10. Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.11. Performs receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed.12. Produces radiographs and practices isolation techniques per policy and procedures.13. Follows ALARA guideline and uses Universal Precautions in all situations.14. Produces films as needed.15. Preforms other duties as assigned.
