Job description

The Part-Time Clerk supports the daily operations of the Testing Center and Dual Credit Department by providing administrative, clerical, and student support services. This position assists with testing administration, student check-in and verification, data entry, records maintenance, and communication with students, faculty, and staff. The clerk ensures compliance with institutional policies, testing protocols, and dual credit procedures while maintaining a professional, student-centered environment. 

Testing Center Support

  • Assist with the check-in and check-out process for students taking exams, ensuring proper identification and documentation
  • Monitor testing areas to ensure adherence to testing policies, procedures, and academic integrity standards
  • Provide general information to students regarding testing procedures and requirements
  • Assist with maintaining accurate testing records and documentation
  • Support the coordination of various tests

Dual Credit Program Support

  • Answer Dual Credit phone line and email, providing timely, accurate, and professional responses to student, parent, and partner inquiries
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of dual credit student records in the student information system
  • Communicate with students, parents, high school staff, and college personnel regarding dual credit procedures and requirements
  • Maintain organized and accurate student files and documentation in compliance with institutional and FERPA guidelines
  • Assist with preparing reports, correspondence, and program materials
  • Support dual credit staff with general clerical and administrative duties

General Administrative Support

  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, faculty, and external partners in person, by phone, and via email
  • Assist with office coverage, scheduling, and front desk support as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Testing Center and Dual Credit operations

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualification 

  • Associate degree
  • One (1) year of clerical, administrative support, customer service, or related experience
  • Experience working in a college, testing center, or educational environment
  • Familiarity with student information systems and database management

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • This position may require occasional travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with others verbally and electronically; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
