Position Summary

Job Summary - The Quality Assurance Part Time Technician is responsible for monitoring and verifying food safety and quality systems on the production floor for sausage and boudin manufacturing. This role ensures compliance with HACCP plans, regulatory requirements, and company standards by maintaining a consistent presence in production areas and acting as the "eyes and ears" of the FSQA program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor HACCP controls, verify processes, and document results
  • Ensure corrective actions and maintain audit-ready records
  • Oversee production floor for GMP and food safety compliance
  • Identify and communicate quality or safety issues in real time
  • Perform product checks (weight, temp, packaging, labeling)
  • Complete QA documentation and support traceability/holds
  • Verify sanitation and support environmental monitoring programs
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and audit preparation

Qualifications: 

  • Previous food processing or production experience is helpful but not required
  • Food production experience preferred, not required
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Strong attention to detail, observation, and problem-solving
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Good time management in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
