Job Overview

Professional Building Services (PBS) is seeking dependable individuals to join our Down Crew (Floater) Cleaning Team. This position supports commercial cleaning operations by providing coverage for team absences, new account start-ups, and fluctuating workloads across multiple client locations. Work assignments are based on operational needs, and daily hours vary and are not guaranteed. This role may lead to more consistent or permanent assignments based on performance and business demand.

Schedule & Availability

  • Evening shifts only
  • Start time varies between 4:30 PM โ€“ 5:00 PM
  • Schedules are issued early afternoon, with any necessary updates communicated as the evening approaches
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to same-day schedule changes are required
  • Pay & Position Overview

Starting Pay:

  • $13.00 per hour
  • Paid GPS-travel time between job sites
  • Gas allowance (rate to be determined)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform commercial cleaning duties including:
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Restroom cleaning and sanitation
  • Trash removal
  • Surface and high-touch point disinfection
  • Follow PBS cleaning standards, safety procedures, and client specifications
  • Travel between assigned job sites
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members
  • Maintain punctuality, quality, and attention to detail

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services is preferred; training provided for the right candidate
  • Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks that may involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment or supplies. Physically capable of performing cleaning duties.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for traveling between different job sites within Iowa.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and locations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong time-management and reliability

Job Type: Part-time

Work Location: In person

You will be working with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
