Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Applicants for the non-tenure-track position should hold a Master's or a Ph.D. degree in information technology, operations research, or a closely related discipline. They should have experience as practitioners and/or have a track record of effective teaching in a wide variety of business analytics and information technology courses in subjects such as Applied Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Mining, as well as Operations Research. Candidates should possess good knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Java, Python and R. . The position is focused on the broad area of data science with special consideration given to applicants with expertise in Machine Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence and transportation systems.

The MSIS department offers undergraduate programs in Business Analytics and Information Technology and Management Information Systems in New Brunswick and Newark campuses, respectively, as well as Masters in Information Technology and Analytics. It also contributes to the MBA and Quantitative Finance programs by offering courses in the Optimization, Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Information Technology areas. In addition, it coordinates the tracks in Operations Research and Information Technology of the doctoral program. The Rutgers Business School is accredited, and is a part of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, which is a vibrant public research university. The Rutgers Business School is located on two campuses: Newark and New Brunswick and the successful candidate could be required to teach on both campuses.
The successful candidate should have demonstrated the ability to teach effectively in undergraduate and graduate programs and supervise students.
Successful candidate should have experience working in interdisciplinary teams, and a strong interest in collaborating with academic faculty, as well as in pursuing external grants.
Besides working on research projects and publishing research papers, this position's teaching load will be 12 credits per year. The applicants are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. Service responsibilities include participation in department and school activities and offering students academic and career advising whenever necessary.
