JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking a Part Time Data Analyst to support clinical informatics and health data science projects. This is a part time position. The analyst will develop data specifications and computer algorithms to support data extraction, management, and analysis efforts that inform clinical decision-making, health services and other research. The position involves both independent work and collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and data scientists. The analyst will be expected to periodically work in person in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAS and/or Python for data management and analysis
  • Basic knowledge of statistical methods (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing)
  • Familiarity with data management and cleaning techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract, clean, and manage large-scale datasets
  • Develop and maintain structured datasets for research and operational use
  • Perform data validation, quality checks, and documentation of data processes
  • Collaborate with the research teams to understand database schemas and data pipelines
  • Assist with cohort construction, feature engineering, and variable definition
  • Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses
  • Generate tables, figures, and reports for research studies and presentations
  • Write and maintain code in SAS and/or Python for data processing and analysis
  • Work with relational databases (e.g., SQL) to query and manipulate data
  • Contribute to reproducible workflows and version-controlled codebases
  • Work closely with clinicians and investigators to translate clinical questions into analytic plans
  • Assist with IRB protocols, data use documentation, and regulatory compliance
  • Assist the manuscript and grant proposal development
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to study design and interpretation
