PSEG is seeking an intern for the assist the Regulatory Policy and Procedure team for Gas Operations - Corrosion Technicians. Potential locations may include:
Burlington, Clifton, Secaucus, Harrison, Audubon, East Orange, Jersey City, Trenton, New Brunswick, Oakland, Oradell, Plainfield,
The Regulatory, Policy and Procedure team is responsible for the corrosion control program relating to the underground gas infrastructure. We are responsible for the BPU mandated Test Station inspections on a yearly basis.
Corrosion interns help to ensure the integrity of the PSE&G gas main systems. Interns will use PSE&G company vehicles and associated equipment (voltage meters, hand tools, safety related equipment, traffic control equipment, etc..) to safely take test points at the designated locations on the gas systems as directed by PSE&G personnel.
Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or 2nd year in Associates' program from an accredited institution. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and a safe driving record.
All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer period for the full 10-12 week period. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students staying in the NJ/NY/PA metro area for the duration of the internship and able to commute to the assigned work location. Housing, transportation, immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions. As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
