Job Summary:

When a patient has a severe respiratory condition in a ProMedica hospital, a Respiratory Care Practitioner provides the care they need in a general, clinical, emergency, and/or diagnostic care area.

You will help create a care plan, evaluate goals, and maintain communication with appropriate members of a patient's health care team.

In this role, you will help with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, medical students, and residents as needed. You will also help orient new staff and contribute to the growth of others to strengthen the team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED and maintain credential as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current BLS
  • Must be licensed to render respiratory care services by the respective state(s) of practice - Ohio and/or Michigan. Will stay current in the practice of Respiratory Care by actively participating in continuing education and maintaining certifications and annual competencies

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification is recommended, and may be required at somebusiness units.
  • Membership in the American Association of Respiratory Care
