About Our Family

We are a busy household in Overland Park, Kansas with two energetic kids (7 and 11) and a smart, friendly dog. Both parents work demanding careers with schedules that regularly extend into evenings and weekends. Our home runs at a fast pace, and we take pride in keeping things organized, intentional, and running smoothly, even when life gets hectic.

Our kids are bright, spirited, and full of energy. With school being 25 minutes from home, the logistics of after-school activities can be cumbersome, especially when we factor in trying to provide meaningful homework help and healthy on-the-go meals. We love to support their interests, and are hoping to continue building stable routines amidst the often chaotic schedules.

We already have a house cleaner and landscapers in place, so this role isn't about starting from scratch. It's about adding a trusted, proactive person to our team who can hold things together, make good decisions, and help us stay a step ahead while modeling this behavior for our kids as well. We value efficiency, clear communication, and a calm sense of order in our home.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are someone who walks in the door ready to get the job done. You don't wait to be told what needs doing. You see dishes in the sink, and you handle it. You notice the backpack isn't packed for practice, and you take care of it. You are an organized, efficient problem solver who takes real pride in doing things well.

You have a natural ease with kids and aren't afraid to hold the line. You bring a calm, teacher-like presence. The kids in this home are smart and persistent, and they thrive with someone who is warm but firm. Homework gets done before screens. Chores get followed through. Intentional meals are planned in advance and ready before hunger turns into a behavioral issue.

You're not overly chatty, especially when a parent is working from home, but you are purposeful in building lasting relationships and are looking for a long-term role with a family. You ask good questions when you're getting started, and over time, you need fewer of them. You are self-directed, high in common sense, and genuinely helpful to a family that already has a lot going on. Experience driving children and a clean driving record are essential.
