Responsibilities:

The Data Engineering Lead will design, build, and scale our enterprise data pipelines and platforms. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on technical environment and is passionate about creating reliable, accessible, and high-performance data systems. As a leader in our data organization, you will set technical standards, guide architectural decisions, and ensure our data infrastructure supports both analytics and operational needs across the business. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines: The Data Engineering Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines that support both real-time and batch processing. These pipelines will serve as the backbone of the company’s data infrastructure, enabling seamless data flow across systems and ensuring that analytics and operational teams have access to timely, accurate information. 

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of the enterprise data platform: This role involves setting the technical direction for the data platform, including selecting appropriate technologies, designing scalable architecture, and overseeing implementation. The Data Engineering Lead will ensure the platform is secure, high-performing, and adaptable to evolving business needs. 

  • Establish and enforce technical standards for data engineering practices: The successful candidate will define and uphold best practices for coding, testing, documentation, and deployment within the data engineering team. By creating a strong foundation of standards, this role will promote consistency, maintainability, and quality across all data-related projects. 

  • Ensure data reliability and accessibility: A key function of this role is to implement monitoring and alerting systems that proactively identify data issues. The Data Engineering Lead will also develop frameworks for data quality and governance, ensuring that stakeholders can trust and easily access the data they need. 

  • Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams: This role requires close partnership with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions. The Data Engineering Lead will translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure that data products support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role. 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (preferred). 

Experience: 

  • Proven expertise in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development. 

  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure. 

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, API development, and integration patterns for scalable data architecture. 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and workflow automation for data engineering processes. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. 

  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering collaboration and technical excellence. 

  • Strong communication skills to effectively work across cross-functional teams and translate business needs into technical solutions. 

  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

This position is classified as “in-person,” which means the physical office in Orlando.
