 We are currently looking for a Production Studio Floater to join our Team.


 The Production Floater moves around the manufacturing floors to help complete any projects where extra hands are needed. This position requires a self-starter who can adapt to ever changing priorities and enjoys multi-tasking. This role requires the incumbent to learn the techniques and processes used in various departments, over time developing into a versatile employee who assists the departments in meeting production deadlines.   

Requirements

Key Acountabilities:

  •  Willingness to learn new tasks and shift projects frequently 
  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources, prioritize tasks and seek out assignments  
  • Capable of performing diverse tasks across production departments, including Clay Goods (Tilemaking, Set-Up, and Casting), Finished Goods (Display, Mosaics, Quality Assurance, and Packing), and Glaze Goods (Glazemaking, Spraying/Loading, and Hand-painting). 
  • Participates in team and companywide meetings 
  • Maintains clean working environment and participates in clean up and maintenance activities 

Your Skills: 

  • Familiarity with ceramics and/or manufacturing processes
  • A willingness to demonstrate Pratt + Larson's mission and core values: Enrichment, Cultivating Culture, Tile Dreams, Leading the Way and Taking Ownership
  • The ability to perform multiple functions effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven, team environment
  • Possess well developed communication skills
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours a day with frequent lifting
  • Able to focus on details and have reading, writing and basic math skills
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively with a diverse team

 Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Standing for a good part of the day
  • Other activities include climbing, balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, repetitive motions, grasping, and feeling

Hours/Compensation:

This job is full-time or part-time, non-exempt with working hours Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday 40 hours per week, onsite, in our Production Factory in Portland.


This positions starts at $18.00 per hour.


Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and to move about. The employee is frequently required to operate various manufacturing equipment. The employee is regularly required to observe, identify, detect and communicate by exchanging information and expressing themselves. The employee may occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and, with assistance, move, transport and/or position up to 100 pounds. The employee may be required to wear a respirator.
