Job description

Why Mayo Clinic

Mayo Clinic is top-ranked in more specialties than any other care provider according to U.S. News & World Report. As we work together to put the needs of the patient first, we are also dedicated to our employees, investing in competitive compensation and comprehensive benefit plans - to take care of you and your family, now and in the future. And with continuing education and advancement opportunities at every turn, you can build a long, successful career with Mayo Clinic.

Responsibilities

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care as integral members of the anesthesia care team. Their responsibilities include conducting pre-anesthetic evaluations, managing anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence, and providing post-anesthesia care and follow-up. They also offer peri-anesthetic support throughout the surgical process. Additionally, CRNAs may act as Surgical Process Improvement facilitators as needed.

In this role, CRNAs may be required to function as lead CRNAs, coordinating breaks and mealtimes, acting as clinical resources for students and residents, and assisting senior residents with emergency case coverage.

For Current Benefit-Eligible Mayo Clinic CRNAs:

This posting is also open to current benefit-eligible Mayo Clinic CRNAs who are interested in transitioning to a non-benefit, supplemental CRNA position. The hiring process will follow the guidelines outlined on the internal Mayo Clinic CRNA homepage.

  • Only one staff CRNA can switch to a supplemental position per quarter.
  • The deadline for requesting to transition to a supplemental position aligns with the call schedule deadline date for that quarter.
  • If more than one CRNA requests to transition, approval will be based on departmental seniority.
  • The start date must be at the beginning of the pay period, at the end of the quarterly schedule. The start date will be based on whichever date, at the end of the quarter, has the least interruption to the practice.
