How much do part time private emt jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time private emt in the United States is $20.40, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $17.07 and $22.60 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are part time private EMTs?

Part time private EMTs are Emergency Medical Technicians who work for private ambulance companies, event staffing agencies, or other non-governmental organizations on a part-time basis. Unlike full-time EMTs, they often have flexible schedules and may provide medical care at special events, during patient transports, or as needed by private clients. Their responsibilities include responding to medical emergencies, providing pre-hospital care, and safely transporting patients. Working part-time allows EMTs to balance other commitments, such as school or another job, while gaining valuable experience in the emergency medical field.

How can an EMT make extra money?

An EMT can earn extra income by taking on additional shifts, working at private events, or providing standby services. They can also offer first aid training or CPR classes, utilize their skills for medical transportation, or work part-time for private ambulance companies, often requiring relevant certifications and flexible scheduling.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Part-time private EMTs typically do not earn $2,000 per day; their pay depends on factors like location, experience, and shift length. High-paying emergency medical roles or specialized medical consulting may reach such earnings, but these are usually full-time or require advanced certifications. Most part-time EMT positions offer hourly wages that are significantly lower than this amount.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A part-time private EMT can potentially earn around $10,000 a month through overtime, high-demand shifts, or working in specialized environments, especially with certifications like CPR and advanced emergency response training. However, such high earnings typically require extensive experience, a strong work schedule, and sometimes additional certifications or licenses, as EMT pay generally varies by location and employer.

Could I be a part-time EMT?

Yes, part-time EMT positions are common and allow individuals to work flexible hours while providing emergency medical services. These roles typically require certification, such as EMT-Basic, and may involve shifts during nights, weekends, or holidays depending on the employer's needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Private EMT, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Private EMT, you need strong emergency medical knowledge, quick decision-making skills, and must hold a valid EMT certification and state licensure. Familiarity with ambulance equipment, patient transport protocols, and digital patient care reporting systems is typically required. Excellent communication, calmness under pressure, and a compassionate demeanor help you effectively assist patients and coordinate with other medical professionals. These competencies ensure timely, safe, and effective emergency care delivery in unpredictable and often challenging environments.

What are the typical scheduling expectations and flexibility for part-time private EMTs?

Part-time private EMTs often have variable schedules that can include evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the needs of the private ambulance service or event coverage. While this role usually offers more flexibility compared to full-time EMT positions, shifts may be assigned on an as-needed basis, and staff may be called in with short notice during busy periods. Many employers try to accommodate EMTs' availability, making it possible for students or those with other jobs to balance their commitments. However, being adaptable and responsive to changing schedules is an important part of success in this role.

What is the difference between Part Time Private Emt vs Part Time Emergency Medical Technician?
